Documenting the Silent Skyline

V0 Archive is a personal project born out of a fascination with the physical remains of aviation history.

In an era where navigation is handled by satellites and invisible signals, it is easy to forget that the sky was once “paved” with concrete and guided by light. From the massive concrete arrows of the 1920s Transcontinental Air Mail Route to the abandoned “ghost strips” and desert boneyards of the West, the landscape is dotted with the infrastructure that built the modern world.

The Mission

The goal of this site is simple: Collection and Preservation. As these landmarks are reclaimed by nature or erased by urban development, the V0 Archive serves as a digital record of their existence. I am not a professional historian or an aviator – I am an independent enthusiast dedicated to finding, cataloging, and sharing these sites before they disappear.

Why “V0”?

In aviation, “V-speeds” define the critical limits of flight. V0 represents the starting point: the ground. This archive is dedicated to the history of flight that remains fixed to the earth.
